Review: Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water ♥

I've always hated having to take my makeup off at the end of the day, it always feels like such a chore and I know that I can't go to bed until every speck of makeup has been scrubbed from my face. I would hate having to sit in front of the mirror and scrub at my eyes to get my mascara and eyeliner off, only to end up looking like a panda, and my skin would get so sore from being scrubbed so hard. I'd tried several different types of makeup wipes and makeup removers and none of them were perfect.

I had seen a few bloggers reviewing the Micellar Cleansing Water by Garnier and after reading several reviews I decided to give it a go. To be honest, I mainly just wanted to buy it because I think the bottle looks really cool, but also because the reviews I'd read said that it was a really good product and it was highly recommended. So I ran out to Boots and bought the last one they had on the shelves!

The Micellar Water contains micelles which act like little magnets and just lift the makeup straight off your face, meaning no more scrubbing and hurting your skin. Literally, all you need is one swipe and your makeup is gone, it works so well, even with the amount of mascara I wear some days, it still manages to get rid of every single bit. It feels really refreshing and hydrating as well, sometime I'll use a little bit when I wake up just to refresh my skin before I put on my makeup for the day.

I've been using this product for a few months now and I'm seriously loving it. It makes it so much easier  and quicker for me to remove my makeup, which means I can get to bed quicker at night, which is always good! Even after using it for a few months I still have loads left because you don't even need to use a lot, which means it lasts a lot longer! You can actually get 200 uses out of it, if you're lucky!

I definitely recommend giving this a go if you're like me and you really want something that takes your makeup off quickly and smoothly. You can currently buy it in Boots for £4.99 and it comes in a 400ml size. I've really been loving Garnier's products lately, and this one is just another to add to the list!

Have you tried the Micellar Cleansing Water yet?

Happiness is a choice!

(original photo not mine)

Over the past few months, I've recently started watching a YouTube channel called the Shaytards. Some of you may have heard of them, but for those of you who have not, they're a family who have been daily vlogging for the past five years. And in several vlogs, the topic of 'choosing happiness' comes up quite a lot.

Think about it, would you choose to be sad? Would you choose to be unhappy? No, why would you do that? Of course you want to be happy, that's what life's about. So you choose happiness. Now I know you might be sitting there thinking 'that's easier said than done', but actually it's not. For example, you might be in a situation where it would be really easy for you to be sad or annoyed, but instead of choosing those feelings, you can choose to be happy. Personally, I'm a really positive person, so when I'm in one of those situations, I always think 'this could be much worse' or 'it's not that bad'.

If you choose to be happy, you'll enjoy life a lot more. Do things that make you happy! If you're stuck in a job that you hate or that you're not going anywhere in, leave that job. I know it may sound scary, but trust me, I've done it. I've left jobs and had nothing else to go to, but as soon as I left those jobs, I was so happy and I ended up finding something way better. Don't do something that makes you miserable, it's a waste of time, you could be doing something far better, something that you actually enjoy!

It doesn't matter how everyone else feels or what everyone else thinks. Do what makes you happy, not everyone around you. If you're surrounded by people who are negative, don't let their bad moods affect you or bring you down. Choose to be happy.

Obviously it's not possible to be happy ALL the time, there will be certain things that happen in life that will make it difficult to choose happiness and be happy, but if you wake up everyday and think 'I'm going to choose to be happy today, I'm going to try my best to have a good day,' you will be happy, and you will enjoy life more than you will if you wake up and think about how bad your day is going to be or how much your life sucks.

Something that gets me through bad days, and has done for a while is the thought of having something to look forward to. It doesn't even have to be something big, it can be the tiniest thing, like something you're planning to have for dinner, or a nice relaxing bath when you get home, or seeing your boyfriend/girlfriend/friends/family. Just having something to look forward to takes your mind off the day you're having.

Basically what I'm trying to say is don't do anything that doesn't make you happy. Do what makes you happy and you'll enjoy your life 100 times more. Find the positive in situations and don't be a negative Nancy!

Makeup Revolution ♥*

So for a while now I've been seeing loads and loads of great reviews about the brand Makeup Revolution and I've been really wanting to try it for myself. So I tweeted about really wanting to try it. Then I received a message on Twitter from Makeup Revolution offering to send me something to try. Of course, I said yes!

Today I received a package which seemed far too heavy to contain just one palette that I had asked for. So I opened it up and I was pleasantly surprised to find not only the palette that I asked for, but also another palette, two bronzers and a little eyeshadow palette! How nice of them!

I immediately opened the palettes to have a look at them and they are absolutely gorgeous! I'm not normally one to wear eyeshadow or bronzers, but now I'm definitely going to start! All I need to get are some decent brushes to apply these and I'm good to go!

Lets have a look and see what I received!

Dia de los Muertos eyeshadow palette

Ultra Blush Palette Sugar and Spice

Baked Eyeshadow palette - Pure and Innocent

Bronze Shimmer Highlight

Bronzer - Light Shimmer

I really love everything that I received and I honestly can't thank Makeup Revolution enough for surprising me with more products than I expected! I can't wait to start using everything and review them, I know they're going to be amazing just by looking at them!

Definitely go check out Makeup Revolution and see what they've got. Everything is really well priced and actually not expensive, which is nice! I'll definitely be placing an official order with them as soon as I get paid, I really want to give their lipsticks a go, they look stunning.

Thanks again, Makeup Revolution!

My first #OOTD ♥

Today I thought I would start doing something new; an outfit of the day! I'm not sure how often these posts will be as there are days where I just stay in my pyjamas all day, but I'll try and do them as often as possible. I don't wear the most exciting clothes, but hopefully you'll enjoy these posts.

Anyway, today's outfit of the day is....

The comfiest clothes I could find! (yay)

I was at work today and we dress down every Friday so today I took the opportunity to wear some comfy clothes because I sit at a desk all day and I want to be comfortable.

Jumper - Topshop
Leggings - Primark

Necklace - Forever 21

Trainers - Primark

You can see by the state of my trainers that I wear them far too often, but I love them, and for Primark quality, they've actually lasted for a while!

Like I said, not the most exciting outfit, but comfortable!

LUSH: Brazened Honey face mask ♥

I've recently become a massive LUSH addict, which is funny because I used to hate it. I would always walk past the shop in Edinburgh and the smell of it would be so strong that it gave me a headache. One day though I was brave enough to go in and try and ignore the smell to have a look at what they had to offer. I immediately fell in love the bath bomb section and spent a good ten minutes there just sniffing them all and picking out my favourites. I then moved over to the fresh face mask section and fell in love all over again.

I was struggling to decide on which one to get when the sales assistant came over and recommended this one. The Brazened Honey face mask. He said it was really good for leaving your skin feeling really soft and smooth. So I bought it!

I used it as soon as I got home and I can honestly say that I'm really impressed with this face mask. It's got all the good things in it such as ground almonds and moisturising honey and my face instantly feels 100% cleaner, softer, smoother and just better in general. It's got a really thick consistency and it usually gets stuck under my nails when I'm applying it, but I love putting it on because I know that I'm giving my skin a treat. It also smells really good!

I'm definitely going to be buying a lot more face masks from LUSH after trying this one, I absolutely love it. I'll also definitely be visiting LUSH a lot more often now because I love seeing all the face masks in the bowls and I love the different kinds of bath bombs you get, the sales assistants are also really nice which is a plus!

What's your favourite LUSH face mask/product?
Let me know!

A film review! - Animal

Today I'll be doing something different, yay! While normally I'll review a new makeup product I've bought, or show you guys my nails or a new bag I've bought, today I'll be reviewing a movie. By no means am I a proper film critic, I just want to share my thoughts on it, and that's what my blog is for!

Animal is a new horror movie that just came out literally yesterday. The official plot line is:

When plans for a weekend vacation hit a dead end, a group of close-knit friends find themselves stranded in unfamiliar territory, pursued by a menacing, blood thirsty predator. Holed up in an isolated cabin, tensions mount as long-buried secrets are revealed. As the body count rises, the group must put their differences aside and fight for survival.

Sounds pretty good right? Right.

It's directed by the lovely Brett Simmons, and stars the amazing Jeremy Sumpter, Elizabeth Gillies, Keke Palmer, Parker Young, and Paul Iacono.

Now, I'm not normally someone who watches a lot of horror movies, mainly because I'm a wimp and anything scares me. But this one has one of my favourite people (Elizabeth Gillies) in it, so I wanted to watch it to support her, plus it sounded pretty good.

Like most horror movies, it starts off relatively non-scary, they drive into the woods, the road is blocked so they have to walk the rest of the way, during the walk they get lost... and that's when it starts to get scary.

The thing that ends up chasing them, the 'animal', is terrifying. I don't even know what it actually is. I think it's a giant, half bald pigeon with massive pointy teeth, and it is not happy. All I know is that it terrified me.

I'm trying not to say too much because I don't want to spoil it, but basically it's a really intense and scary movie, I was literally on the edge of my seat half the time.

I will say that it took me a good three hours to finish this movie, and I think it's only 1 hours and 30 minutes long or something, but some parts were pretty scary and I had to pause it to calm myself down. It also didn't help that my boyfriend phoned me at a particularly tense moment (literally just before a jump scare), I almost wet myself.

Overall I'd say this is a really good movie and I definitely recommend giving it a watch, even if you're a wimp and you end up watching the majority of it from behind a white fluffy pillow (like me). There's a hella lot of blood and gore, so if you're not good with that kind of stuff I'd maybe be careful. It's definitely one of the scarier films I've seen in a while, and I've not been able to bring myself to watch it a second time yet, but I'm trying!

You can buy it or rent it on iTunes, or you can watch it on demand.

Probably not the most professional movie review ever written, but hey, I hope you all go and watch it!

Let me know what you think If you do watch it!

Longchamp - Le Pliage ♥

I've never really been a massive fan of handbags, I'm not normally one to fall in love with a bag or anything like that. I would always just go into Primark and find the cheapest, most practical bag, and that would do.

Until now.

On Friday, I purchased probably the most expensive bag I've ever bought in my life. Saying that, it was £59 and I don't know if that's considered 'expensive' in the world of bags, but hey, it's the most i've ever paid for a bag. Anyway, I ordered the Le Pliage handbag from Longchamp. And it's beautiful.

I'd never heard of Longchamp until I was watching Niomi Smart's YouTube video of 'What's In My Bag?', and I saw that she had the white version and I immediately fell in love with it. Her version of the bag looks slightly bigger than mine, but I'm only really using it to take to work and to go shopping, so for me it's a good size.

I had a hard time deciding which colour to get it in, I was swaying back and forth between a lovely red and the dark navy blue. Obviously I ended up going for the navy, but I think if I ever buy a different size, e.g a travel bag, i'll definitely be buying it in the red because I think it's a lovely colour.

It's made out of nylon, which is good because I think it's waterproof and that's just what I need living in Scotland. It's pretty spacious inside and looks like I could fit quite a bit of stuff inside. The straps are pretty long so I can wear it on my shoulder rather than have to carry it on my arm or in my hand. It's got the little Longchamp logo on the front and a gold zipper and button detail. Overall, I think it's perfect and I love it so much.

I'm definitely going to be throwing away all my other handbags since they're all pretty much falling apart now, and I'll be sticking with this bag for a while. I'm absolutely in love with it!

What do you guys think?

University: Is It Right For You?

So this probably won't be the most exciting post, but it's just something I feel the need to share my opinion on. When I think of university, I immediately think of debt, exams, and a lot of partying.

First thing's first: I didn't go to university, so I don't actually know what it's like.

I had the chance to go, and I just decided not to.

In high school, we had to sit down and choose where we wanted to go and what we wanted to study. I don't remember anyone actually asking us "Do you all want to go to university?", they pretty much just told us that we were going. And while everyone else in the class was making their choices of university and their choices of courses, I had absolutely no idea what I wanted to do. I wasn't even 18 yet, and the teachers expected me to know what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. How can I choose that when I don't even know what I'm going to have for dinner tomorrow night?

Don't get me wrong, a lot of people knew what they wanted to study and what they wanted to do for the rest of their lives, and good for them. I just wasn't one of them. I didn't want to pick a random course and get stuck in it for however many years. And then end up with student loans to pay back and blah blah blah. I made a decision that university wasn't something I wanted to do.

So after school I started working straight away in a bank and I actually enjoyed it. I mean, working in a bank probably isn't what I want to do forever, but at least I was making good money doing it. I was happy with my decision to not go to uni, and I still am happy with that decision. I genuinely don't think I would have enjoyed uni had I gone. I think I would have been forcing myself to do something that I didn't necessarily want to be doing. Plus, if I had gone, I wouldn't have met some of my closest friends, or my boyfriend.

I have friends that go to uni and they really really enjoy it, they think it's the best time and they love what they're studying. But the main thing they tell me is to only go if you really know what you want to do, because it's a lot of work, and if you're not passionate about what you're studying, you're wasting your time when you could be doing something else.

Basically what I'm trying to say is don't feel like you have to go to uni because everyone's telling you to. It's okay to say "no, I don't want to go", it's okay! I said it. Don't feel pressured. Don't feel like there's nothing else. There are other options! Get a temp job, take a gap year, do an apprenticeship, do some charity work. Just take your time to figure out what you're passionate about, and then go to uni. Do what you want to do. Not what everyone else wants you to do.

I hope this made a little bit of sense, it's just something I wanted to talk about, and I hope it helped one of you, even just a tiny bit!

What are your views on uni?

My Third Graze Box + Get Your Own Free Box!

It's that time again! This week I received my third Graze box. I actually received it on Monday, and I realise that it's now Sunday... yeah I'm running a bit behind. Anyway, let's have a look and see what snacks I received this week!

Salsa Fresca

These were delicious. I absolutely loved these. They're basically just mini tortilla chips and a coriander and lime salsa dip. So good. They were finished within about a minute of opening them. I definitely want to receive these a lot more often!

Herby Bread Basket

Again, I loved this snack, and again it was gone within about a minute of me opening the box. It consists of basil baguettes, garlic crostini, and oregano rice crackers. It was delicious. I especially loved the basil baguettes, they were my favourite. Definitely one of my favourite snacks I've ever received.

Nature's Immunity Nuts

I actually didn't like this snack. I'm not the biggest fan of just plain nuts, I like them to have a bit of flavour. I did end up giving these to my mum though and she ate them, so it wasn't a total waste. This snack consisted of brazil, cashew and pistachio nuts. I did have a few cashew nuts which were okay, but otherwise I'll be using the 'bin' option so I don't get these again.

Smoky BBQ Corn

To finish off with, the smoky bbq corn snack was really really nice. I finished this snack pretty quickly and I really enjoyed it. It consisted of smoked cashews and jumbo corn, and they were delicious. I sometimes get scared that the corn will break my teeth because it's so crunchy, but I still love it!

So overall I enjoyed everything apart from the Nature's Immunity Nuts, but like I said, the really good thing about Graze is that you can pick and choose what you like and what you don't like. You have the option to 'bin' certain snacks that you're not a fan of, and you won't receive that snack again, simple!

Do you want to try Graze for free? Well you can! If you head over to, and enter in this code: D5DR4JNFB, you'll get your first, fifth AND tenth box for FREE! And the best part? You can cancel after your first box, so you don't have to start paying! I definitely recommend giving it a go, there's loads of different boxes to choose from!

Give it a go!

Body Shop special re-opening!

A few weeks ago, my local Body Shop closed to get a little makeover, and on Saturday morning it reopened! To celebrate, there was a special promotion where the first 100 customers to make a purchase were given a free gift bag containing over £20 worth of products! Now, getting up at 8am on a Saturday morning is not something I particularly enjoy, but for free stuff? Why not!

The store wasn't opening until 10am, but we got there around 9am just to make sure we got our gift bags. It wasn't until just before 10am that loads of people started showing up, luckily we were pretty much at the beginning of the queue. At 10am, the green ribbon in front of the store was cut and we were finally allowed to go in.

I think I was maybe the third or fourth person to make a purchase, so I definitely got my gift bag, yay! I bought a foot file because I've been having some rough skin on my heels lately, and I also bought some coconut shower gel because I love it so much.

My purchase came to around £8, and luckily there was no minimum spend. Anyway, here's what I got in my gift bag!

Refining Bath Lily - normally £2.00

Camomile Eye Makeup Remover - normally £8

Strawberry Body Polish - normally £5

Body Butter - normally £5

There was also a mango kind of shower gel, but I'm not a fan of the smell of it, so I swapped it for another eye makeup remover instead. I'm so happy with everything I received in my gift bag, I already knew what came in it because everyone got the same, so it wasn't as exciting, but it's still fun to get free stuff, right?!

By the time I checked out there were tonnes of people in the store, so I couldn't really go around and take pictures considering there was barely any room to move around, so sorry!

What's your favourite product from The Body Shop? Let me know!
