My Favourite Christmas Movies - Blogmas Day Seven!

Everyone loves a good Christmas movie, right? Well so do I! I'm quite picky when it comes to movies in general, and especially Christmas movies. I'm not a big fan of The Santa Claus films or Love Actually or anything like that, in fact all of these Christmas movies are actually from when I was younger and they give me really nice memories whenever I watch them. So here are my top four Christmas movies!

1. Home Alone 2: Lost in New York
I actually prefer this to the first Home Alone, I don't know why! I think maybe because it's set in New York which is probably one of my favourite places ever. I just remember finding this movie really funny, and it's one of those movies that I could watch again and again and still laugh. Also the ending is just so lovely and makes my heart feel good.

2. The Grinch
I remember going to see this in the cinema when it first came out. I used to want to be Cindy Lou Who and I had little pink gloves just likes she did! I just think this movie is so funny and cute and it has a really lovely message in it.

3. Elf
This movie just symbolises Christmas for me. If this movie hasn't been on tv yet, then it's not Christmas! Every time I watch it it always makes me laugh at just how silly it is. Zooey Deschanel is a babe and Will Ferrel is amazing in it.

4. The Father Christmas
An old classic now with The Father Christmas movie from 1991! I absolutely love this movie, well... I don't know if it's classed as a proper 'movie' but anyway, I used to watch it all the time when I was younger and I just think it's so cute and it just gives me really nice memories whenever I watch it.

So those are my favourite Christmas movies, what are yours?
Let me know!

Christmas Nails - Blogmas Day Five!

So I'm a huge fan of fake nails, I could wear them all the time. I'm quite lucky in having strong nails so they don't get damaged by the glue quite as badly, which means I get to wear them fairly often. Christmas time is probably my favourite time of year to wear fake nails (besides Halloween of course) because there are so many lovely designs and I just want them all! Here are a few of my favourites that I've come across so far.

 Reindeer/Snowflakes by Primark - £1.50

Constellation by Elegant Touch - £7.95

Unwrap Me by House of Holland - £8.99

I know, the Constellation ones aren't really Christmassy or anything but they're just so lovely and they're rose gold and I love rose gold!

What festive nails are your favourite? Let me know!

My Favourite Christmas Candles - Blogmas Day Four!

So anyone who knows me will already know that I am absolutely obsessed with candles, Yankee Candle in particular. I feel like I own far too many, but you can never have enough candles, right?.... Right? Anyway, for day four of Blogmas I thought I'd share a few of my most favourite candles, particularly the winter/Christmassy range from Yankee Candle.

1. Snowflake Cookie
This candle is absolutely beautiful, both in scent and colour. I first discovered this last year when I was in Dobbies and bought a small votive of it. I became addicted to it and my mum had to buy me a large version of it for Christmas. It's very sweet and smells like really sugary cookies. It's probably not for everyone but I love it!

2. Christmas Cookie
Continuing the festive sweet treat theme here with Christmas Cookie. This might have been the first Yankee Candle I ever got and probably what started my addiction! Again, it smells exactly like cookies, yet not as sweet as Snowflake Cookie. This is definitely my favourite Yankee Candle I've ever bought and it properly gets me in the mood for Christmas whenever I smell it. In fact, I'm burning it right now!

3. Fireside Treats
I don't really know if this is considered to be a Christmas candle, but it's definitely wintery. I only recently discovered this scent but it's quickly made its way into my top three candles. It smells of roasting marshmallows and it's just so lovely. I think my room now permanently smells of it since I've been burning it so much lately!

Hopefully these gave you some inspiration for some Christmassy candles for yourself or a fellow candle lover! What are your favourite festive candles? Let me know!

Ugly Christmas Jumpers! - Blogmas Day Three!

I love Christmas jumpers. The uglier the better! One of my favourite things about Christmas is seeing all of the hideous Christmas jumpers in shops, so today for day three of Blogmas I thought I'd delve into the internet and find some of my favourites!

1. This Is My X-Mas Jumper - ASOS

2. Merry Christmas Ya Filthy Animal - Boohoo

3. I Only Do Mornings On December 25th - New Look

4. Bah Humpug - Boohoo

5. Candycanes - Topshop

6. Dancing Penguins - ASOS

I'd actually wear all of these jumpers! I love the dry humour of the first one especially, definitely my style.

What's been the best/ugliest jumper you've seen this year?

Let me know!

The Christmas Tag - Blogmas Day Two!

It's day two of Blogmas, yay! Today I thought I'd do something simple and fun to get us all a bit more into the festive spirit... The Christmas Tag! Here we go!

1. What is/are your favourite Christmas movie(s)?
I'd say my top three Christmas movies would be Home Alone 2, Father Christmas, and The Grinch. Don't ask me to put them in order because I just can't!

2. Do you open presents on Christmas Eve or on Christmas morning?
Christmas morning! I always begged my parents to let me open just one present on Christmas eve to satisfy the monster inside me, but I was never allowed. I think in the future if I have my own kids I'd let them open one on Christmas Eve, I know how frustrating it is to see all of those presents there and not be allowed to touch them!

3. Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?
There's a home video somewhere of a really little me on Christmas eve setting out a mince pie and carrot for Santa and Rudolph, and then on Christmas morning opening my stocking presents and getting like twelve tubs of Play-doh... Amazing!

4. Favourite festive food?
Any kind of Christmas cookies or biscuits that I can get my little hands on.

5. Favourite Christmas gift?
I remember one year I came downstairs to find my very own brand new computer sitting in the corner of the living room! This was when I was quite young so this thing was huge and loaded up so slowly, but I have so many fond memories of sitting playing Petz for hours on end and crying when my cat ran away... I still miss you Snowball...

6. Favourite Christmas scent?
Christmas Cookie by Yankee Candle! It gets me right in the mood for Christmas.

7. Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?
Not so much anymore, but when I was younger I would always leave out a mince pie for Santa and a carrot for Rudolph... Just to make sure they didn't get hungry!

8. What tops your tree?
A little red bow :)

9. As a kid, what was the one crazy/wild/extravagant present you always asked for but never received?
Well when I was little I basically just got out the Argos catalogue and circled anything big and pink, so there were probably a lot of crazy things I asked for but never got. I do remember wanting a puppy quite a lot though. Ever since I watched Lady & The Tramp I always wanted to come downstairs on Christmas morning and find a little puppy with a red bow around it's neck.

10. What's the best part about Christmas for you?
Getting to spend time with family, eating really good food, being able to not feel guilty for sitting around in pyjamas all day... I also just love seeing people's faces when they open presents.

Advent Calendar Wishlist - Blogmas Day One!

Yes you read correctly... I am doing Blogmas this year!

I haven't been the best blogger over the last few months, I've been pretty terrible actually, but hopefully I can make it up by having some really nice Christmassy posts to end the year with. I've got a little notepad full of ideas so hopefully I can stick it out til the end!

Anyway, I thought I'd start off with one of my favourite things about Christmas... Advent Calendars! I'm fairly boring and I tend to just get a Dairy Milk/Milky Bar chocolate calendar every year, but I have seen some really amazing non-chocolate advent calendars lately so I thought I'd share my Advent Calendar Wishlist.

1. Yankee Candle
I am absolutely obsessed with candles this year, especially Yankee Candle. All of their candles just smell so good! This year Yankee Candle have two advent calendars; the Reindeer Carousel Advent Calendar [£31.99] and the Advent House in the Snow [£27.99]. You get festive scented votives and tealights in both of them. I love the look of both of them and I think they'd be great for someone as obsessed with candles as I am!

2. The Body Shop
A little bit more pricey [£60] but most likely definitely worth it is the 24 Happy Days advent calendar from The Body Shop. I always love seeing what's inside their calendars and this year is no different. Filled with lots of mini skincare products, this would definitely be the one for any Body Shop fans, like my mum for example, she would absolutely love this!

3. Benefit
I am a HUGE fan of Benefit and I swear by some of their makeup, so this next one would definitely be my top pick. Benefit's 12 Days of Christmas: Party Poppers advent calendar [£34.50]contains 12 mini makeup products which I think is a great deal considering how expensive Benefit's full sized products normally are.

4. Ciate
Another favourite of mine is the Mini Mani Month [£49] calendar from Ciate. Ciate is one of my favourite nail polish brands so this is definitely a must have for me. The mini bottles are so cute and practical, and the whole box is just beautiful with the wintery London theme.

5. Lush
Last but definitely not least... Lush! It was only recently that I discovered that Lush had an advent calendar and being the Lush fanatic that I am, of course I immediately wanted it. Lush's 12 Days of Christmas [£49.95] contains 12 of their most popular products including two personal favourites of mine; the Butterbear bath bomb and The Comforter shower cream.

What calendars are on your wishlists? Let me know!

The Product That Saved My Skin!

Okay, so I know that the title of this post sounds really clickbaity but just stay with me on this!

My skin has never really been problematic, I never used to get giant spots or any redness. I considered myself as being quite lucky with my skin. Up until last year. At the end of last year my skin suddenly started to break out horribly. My cheeks would be covered in big, sore spots and I didn't know why. Part of me thought it was down to a new foundation I'd been wearing, and part of me thought it was karma for having good skin throughout the years. Either way, I hated what was happening and I needed to fix it. Fast.

The face wash I was using at the time just wasn't cutting it for me so I went out and bought a new one. And when that one didn't work, I bought a different one. I think I must have tried half a dozen different face washes in the space of a few months and I was starting to lose hope. That was, until an angel descended down from the heavens and showed me this product... okay not really, it was a YouTube video, but you catch my drift.

I'd seen so many videos and adverts about La Roche-Posay and all of their products which seemed to work amazingly, but stupidly I forgot all about them until I found their little section in my local Boots. They had so many products that I didn't know where to begin, but with some hasty Googling in the corner of Boots I decided to buy the La Roche-Posay Effacer 3 Step Anti-Blemish System. It was around £30 which is expensive for me, but at this stage I was pretty much desperate.

The system consists of three products which make up the three steps; a purifying cleanser which reduces excess sebum, a clarifying toner which reduces the appearance of pores, and an anti-blemish cream which reduces the appearance of spots and unclogs pores, it also reduces the appearance of red and brown marks.

When I got home I tested all three products out straight away and I immediately noticed that my skin was so much softer, just after one use! I had a few spots on my cheeks and they already looked less angry and red than they did a few minutes prior. By the next morning, most of my spots had decreased or completely disappeared.

I really wish I had taken a before and after picture, because the difference is amazing. I've been using the system for around three months now and my skin is better than ever. I rarely get spots any more, and when I do they're usually little ones and only last maybe a day. Such an improvement! I honestly cannot recommend this product enough, it's amazing.

So if you're in the position I was a few months ago, definitely try out this product and see how you get on. Hopefully you'll get the same results I did!

I met Dan & Phil!!

I have been watching danisnotonfire and AmazingPhil for a while now... probably around two years, so when they announced earlier this year that they had written a book and were going on tour, I knew I had to go and see them. So £75 and some rash decisions later... I had a VIP ticket for their first show in Glasgow on the 8th of October. Woohoo!

If I'm being honest, I actually kind of forgot that this was really happening up until the day my ticket arrived less than a week before the show. I was a little bit anxious about going by myself but I figured I would meet some people there and I'd be fine!

So on the day, I went into Waterstones, bought their book, and got a bus through to Glasgow (on which there were some extremely loud Polish guys screaming in Polish which was fab). When I arrived in Glasgow I just kind of wandered around by myself for a bit before deciding to join a bunch of girls sitting on the steps outside of the concert hall. I sat down next to two really nice girls and started chatting, before two other girls joined us. I'm really glad I met these girls as it was so much nicer to panic with other people, and they just made the experience so much better.

I started to get really nervous when we were in line for the meet and greet. It just hit me that Dan and Phil were in the same building and I was going to be meeting them. There were about 70 VIPs altogether so there were quite a few of us! We were let into the room where there was free water and popcorn, beanbags, copies of the book, and some nice music playing.

Around ten or fifteen minutes later... Dan and Phil walked in. They just kind of appeared like "oh hey", and no one screamed or freaked out or anything which was really nice. They stood and chatted for a minute before starting the meet and greet. Everyone queued up and we were quite near the front so we didn't have too long to wait. As I got nearer the front I started getting really nervous.

What was I going to say to them? Were they signing things? What if I cry? Don't cry!

Then, it was my turn. Right now I can still picture the moment I made eye contact with Phil as he opened his arms for me.. it's quite surreal. Like, they're real people, they're 3D! Phil gave me a hug before passing me over to Dan (sidenote; they're both extremely tall and give really good hugs). They asked how I was, to which I replied "nervous!". They signed my book for me as I just kind of stared at them in awe before Phil asked if we should take a picture. Of course I said yes, but they might have to do it because I'm so short. So Dan took my phone from me, Phil put his arm around me and we took some photos. I'm going to go as far to say that that was probably one of the best moments of my life.

The meet and greet lasted for just over an hour, and it's kind of weird to think that we just chilled out in a room with Dan and Phil for an hour! Anyway, once they left everyone queued up to sign the VIP guestbook:

As we left the room we were handed our VIP goody bags which consisted of a cool tote bag that says "I actually went outside to see Dan and Phil on tour", a flower crown, a little tour wristband, a poster, a postcard and a cool book with some funny illustrations. I was kind of hoping a t-shirt would be in there somewhere, but oh well!

As we walked into the auditorium, 'Breaking Free' from High School Musical was playing and is still stuck in my head right now! I was in the third row, so I had a pretty good view of the stage. I'm not going to write anything about what was in the show, just in case I spoil it for someone going to see it soon. But I will say that it was so creative and funny and I could easily watch it again and again.
Sidenote - I'm actually going to see it again on Tuesday!

Anyway, to end this ridiculously long post, I just want to say that I'm honestly so proud of these two. I had one of the best days of my life and met some really great people because of them and they just make me so happy.

Thank you, Dan and Phil.

Monday, 15 June 2015

First of all, let me apologise for being ridiculously absent since my last post. I kind of lost the motivation to blog for a little while, but I'm starting to get it back slowly but surely. Hopefully I'll be blogging more often fairly soon!

Secondly, this weekend something really amazing and lovely happened. On Saturday I went to see Louise Pentland's (Sprinkle of Glitter) live show in Edinburgh, which explains the way I started this blog post!

Louise is one of my favourite YouTubers so when I heard that she was doing a live show tour which included a show in Edinburgh, I bought my ticket immediately. I was lucky enough to manage to get one of the limited VIP tickets which included a meet & greet, so as you can imagine I was SO excited!

Let me just say, Louise is probably one of the loveliest people I have ever met in my life and she puts on one hell of a show. I found myself in tears of laughter multiple times throughout and I'm pretty sure I gained abs from laughing so hard. The show was a mix of funny little stories, and inspirational speeches which almost made me tear up, particularly the last little segment about body confidence in which she asked everyone to stand up and raise their hands if they had ever thought that they were disgusting, and numerous hands went up. Then she asked us to look around the room and honestly stick their hands up if they saw anyone they thought was disgusting, not one single hand was raised. I think this really said a lot about what we think about ourselves, and Louise delivered this lesson amazingly well.

I had such a good time at Louise Live and I left feeling like Louise was kind of a big sister, not only to me, but probably to most of the people who went to the show. I feel like she really looks out for all of her fans and I love how she gave us a valuable lesson to take away.

Well done, Louise.

My First Tattoo!! ☽

So earlier on today I read EarthToRee's blog post about getting her first tattoo and it's inspired me to blog about my own tattoo experience.

I've wanted a tattoo for as long as I can remember, but I'm the biggest wuss and I've always been afraid that it would hurt so bad. I also had visions of the tattoo gun touching my skin for the first time and me flinching, resulting in me having a massive line for all eternity... which thankfully didn't happen!

It was kind of a sudden decision to get my tattoo, I think I decided on what I wanted on the Thursday night, and then went to get it done after work on the Friday. I didn't really give myself time to get properly nervous, which I think is a good thing. I decided to get a little crescent moon tattooed on my wrist for a few reasons; it's pretty small so I didn't think it would be too painful, I love space and everything related to it, and also Marzia (CutiePieMarzia) has the same tattoo and I just think it looked adorable.

So I finished work on Friday and walked straight up to the tattoo studio, which was Edinburgh Ink, and I went in just to see if I could make an appointment to get tattooed. It turned out that they were free to do it right there and then! The tattoo artist, Gemma, printed out a little picture of a crescent moon and then took me back to get it done. As soon as I sat down in the chair I started to get really nervous, but Gemma was so lovely and made me feel really relaxed as she got everything ready.

It honestly didn't hurt at all. It felt like she was drawing on me really hard with a pen. I'm probably only saying that because I literally got the tiniest baby tattoo, but either way it didn't hurt. Is it weird to say that I actually kind of liked the pain? Yep, that's weird.

And here it is! It's still got some extra ink around it that I'm too scared to rub off in case I wreck the actual tattoo, but I'm absolutely in love with it, its exactly what I wanted. I'm already planning my next tattoo, I can see how people get addicted to them!

Have you guys got any tattoos? If you do, what are they and did they hurt?
Let me know!

The cutest phone case! | Sighh Designs ♥

Hi everyone! Today I'm writing a little post about my favourite phone case at the moment; the 'Fruities' case by Polly Vadasz (Sighh Designs). It's completely adorable and I'm obsessed with it.

I've been following Polly for a while (that sounds really creepy, sorry!) and have been obsessed with all of her designs, they're beautiful. So when I got paid last month the first thing I did was order one of her phone cases. It took me a while to decide which one to get because there are so many lovely designs, but I finally decided on the Fruities case. I love it.

Have I said how much I love it yet? Because I do!

Polly has so many other beautiful designs and products, such as makeup mirrors, notebooks, Macbook skins and mugs, all of which are hand designed. Here are a few of my other favourite phone cases:

I definitely want all of them!

There's not much else I can say other than how much I love Sighh Designs. Definitely check out Polly's designs at and follow her at:
